#10 HOW TO DESIGN A DUBELIÈ BAG? LET'S TALK ABOUT IT!
Hello Dubeliane!
I'm Sara, thanks to all of you who read the ninth article of the Dubeliè blog, in which I talked to you about the colors to " defrost " for the new season that has arrived: spring.
As I always say, each season has its own colors; I wear neon green and intense orange even in winter, but in summer these colors certainly give their best, reflecting the sunlight in a different way and giving us an exemplary cheerfulness .
But today, instead, on the occasion of the first 10 ARTICLES of this blog, I want to talk to you about a really super interesting topic: the design process of a Dubeliè bag .
And to tell you the behind the scenes of my work, but it is actually a significant part of my days and it is also the reason why all this exists!
And indirectly you have also been part of it, several times… but you will soon see how.
I'm starting to tell. Ready? GO!
PHASE 1: RESEARCH.
The fun part of my job is the double inspiration that flows into my work: from the inside and from the outside. I start from my tastes, my needs, my values and my creativity. I get inspired by the colors of my childhood and the places of my heart.
However, my creativity cannot ignore a good study and trends, but above all, it cannot ignore your tastes and preferences. Every time I ask you to vote for a certain color contrast, I do just that: use your tastes in my creativity. I would never suggest you choose between two shades of beige, but rather adapt your preferences and needs to my concept of fashion and style.
Therefore, we study the market: we see if there is a particular trend or, on the contrary, a gap to be covered with a crazy model that no one had thought of!
Processing time: 1 month;
Difficulty: medium.
PHASE 2: DRAWING
At this point, off to design. Graphic pen in hand and the first lines of a creation are drawn. Shapes, dimensions, colors and textures come to life here and are subject to infinite changes. If I showed you the first sketches of some of the bags you have in your hands, you would start to smile!
Some are very, very different from the final design. This is because the designs must be able to differentiate themselves from all the other bags on the market but also (and above all) from all the others in the Dubeliè world, and this is the most complex challenge, because (as inexhaustible as it is) Dubeliè is already a very complex reality and full of stimuli!
With my suppliers, I then refine the details of the bags, especially from a production point of view. Attention to detail is what connects me and all the people who work to bring Dubeliè to life.
Processing time: 3 months;
Difficulty: High.
PHASE 3: SAMPLES and TESTING
The samples are starting to arrive. I finally have in my hands the fruit of many months of work. Sometimes I realize that the model is perfect, or I recognize some shortcomings. But, above all, this is the stress test phase in which I try the bag!
Before being an entrepreneur, I am a fashion enthusiast: therefore it is extremely important to me that the product I offer you is comfortable, high-performance and long-lasting.
So I find myself testing the bag in all its parts: from the internal pockets to the external ones with zip, from the closure to the shoulder strap. Do you remember when I told you that, for Alessandra, I had asked for a wider shoulder strap? Well, that little detail is the result of a lot of observation!
Processing time: 3 months;
Difficulty: Medium.
PHASE 4: FINAL PRODUCTION
And if all goes well, the design is sent to production.
At this stage, all I have to do is wait for the bags to arrive and, therefore, the main problem at this stage is precisely checking that each step of storage is completed successfully.
More than anything an organizational question, that's it.
Processing time: 5 months;
Difficulty: Medium.
It all started with a pen, a tablet, a lot of inspiration and an unstoppable amount of energy. This is how the first Dubeliè bags were born and this is how the wonders that today nourish the entire collection continue to be born.
Did you think it was more immediate and simple? Or did you think it was a more complex and difficult process? Would you like to design your own fashion collection or, why not, contribute more to the creation of a Dubeliè bag?
Come on, don't be shy… answer below, in the comments!
PS Would you like to start dressing more colorfully but can't find the right clothes around?
I remind you that every Tuesday evening, at 9:30 pm, you will find a LIVE on INSTAGRAM (@__dubeliè__) in which I bring you items in full Dubeliè style at super accessible prices, for all tastes and… truly unmissable!
With love,
Yours, Sara
